Turning Santander Consumer Finance’s EXCO Awards Into a Company-Wide Conversation

Three strategically different films helped transform internal award nominations from a standard HR initiative into something staff actively engaged with, shared and talked about.

Santander Consumer Finance wanted to increase awareness and participation around their Executive Committee (EXCO) Awards — an internal initiative recognising employees who go above and beyond in their roles.

Rather than producing a single corporate-style announcement video, we recommended a multi-asset approach designed to generate conversation across the business.

In a single filming day, we produced three distinct campaign films:

  • Two deliberately humorous, highly shareable videos designed to encourage comments and internal engagement
  • One more emotive, scripted piece using poetic narration and cinematic b-roll to reinforce the purpose and emotional value of recognition

The comedy-led content intentionally avoided traditional corporate tone. One film featured absurd character interactions involving a bear and dolphin, while another followed EXCO members rehearsing acceptance speeches for ridiculous fictional awards.

The contrast between humour and sincerity helped the campaign feel human, memorable and approachable — increasing visibility across the organisation while encouraging nominations.

The campaign generated extremely positive internal feedback and created a bank of evergreen content that can continue supporting future awards programmes without requiring a full campaign rebuild.
