Context
Housing Officers are an important point of contact between Raven Housing Trust and its customers, but their role isn’t always fully understood. Raven wanted a clear, approachable way to explain what Housing Officers actually do, as well as some of the things that sit outside their role.
The challenge
The common perception is that Housing Officers primarily manage tenancies and enforce tenancy agreements. In reality, their work is much broader, from identifying support needs and discussing accessibility or financial concerns to dealing with antisocial behaviour and helping customers live well in their homes.
Raven needed to communicate that breadth without turning the film into a long list of responsibilities.
Our approach
We interviewed Raven’s Housing Manager, Housing Team Leader and a Housing Officer, allowing the people doing the job to explain it naturally and in straightforward language.
We filmed using anamorphic lenses to give the production a more cinematic quality while retaining the warmth and accessibility the subject needed.
The main three-minute film was supported by shorter cut-downs and six social media edits, giving Raven a flexible bank of content rather than a single video.
Commercial value
The content can be used across Raven’s website, Facebook, Instagram, MyRaven portal and direct email communications, helping customers access the information through multiple touchpoints.
The result is an evergreen customer communication resource that explains the Housing Officer role, manages expectations and helps customers better understand where and how Raven can support them. The project received great feedback from the client.
