RCS Impact Review 2018

The Royal College of Surgeons wanted to combine several forms of media into one cohesive video to celebrate their Annual Impact Review. We planned and executed a series of interviews, and intertwined them into a canvas of written testimonials, statistics and imagery.

The great thing about animated video is being able to bring together text, video and imagery into one medium.

The Royal College of Surgeons wanted to create an edit to accompany the release of their Annual Impact Review. The review covers a number of topics, and needs to include relevant statistics and figures that signal to their credibility. Naturally as surgery is a patient-focused service, there are frequent talking head videos to bring a human element to the video, and touching testimonials are included throughout the edit to reinforce this sentiment. The iconographic style is simple and modern so as to provide interest without distracting from the main messaging. The whole narrative is tied together by a steady camera movement around a 3D canvas, which ultimately pulls away to reveal the elements arranged in a heart shape, coinciding with the message “Supporting the profession to advance surgical care is at the heart of our mission”.
