This is the second year we have worked with the council for their annual careers event in collaboration with local schools and colleges. Ordinarily we would spend 2 days dashing around the borough, popping in and out of the offices of the great businesses that are based here, but Covid-19 had other ideas. So instead we planned a different video to open the careers event – an animation! Throughout the animation we cut to some socially-distanced interview footage we gathered from lots of great people from the borough about their jobs and what they do.
Visually we went for a hand-drawn aesthetic, with a stick character and sketchy icons. We wanted the look and feel to be accessible and un-intimidating. We integrated some live action footage too, to break up the video and tie the whole thing together.
